Different sub-groups from patients with compulsive obsessive upheaval know themselves. It would interest to know if marking biochemists exist who allow to predict different answers from the treatment.

MATERIAL And METHODS:

We studied the answer of GH to GRF (1-29) NH2 in 14 patients with TOC, diagnosed according to criteria DSM III, 8 women and 6 men. The answer in two sub-groups was evaluated: resistant patients to the treatment with clorimipramina (TOC-R) and nonresistant to this treatment (TOC-NR). Plasmáticos levels of GH (IRMA) to the 0, 15, 30, 60 and 120 were determined minutes, after administering via IV, before the 9 in the morning, 150 ms g of GRF. The group control composed 20 healthy people, 11 men and 9 women. They were used tests of Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney in the statistical analysis.

RESULTS:

There were no significant differences in the ages of the different sub-groups, nor between the basal values of GH in such.

Significant increases of GH were observed after GRF in both groups in the first hour of the test. The answer was inferior to the 15 and 30 minutes of significant form in group TOC in relation to the group control and also to the 60 minutes in the sub-group of resistant patients to the treatment in relation to the nonresistant ones (TOC-R versus TOC-NR).

CONCLUSIONS:

1ª - an answer flattened of GH Exists after stimulation with GRF in patients with TOC in first half an hour of the test.

2ª - a flattened answer of GH Exists significantly more after stimulation with GRF during the first hour of the test in resistant patients (TOC-R) to the habitual treatment with clorimipramina.

3ª - This levelling of the answer of GH to GRF (1-29)NH2, could be a characteristic marker, in individual in those resistant TOC to the antiobsessive treatment habitual farmacológico.
